How It Works

Going cashless at your next event is easier than you think!

CrowdBlink is flexible, easy to use, and we guide you every step of the way to help you meet your goals. Whether you want to eliminate cash handling by vendors, or if you're looking to increase event earnings, CrowdBlink can help!

Step One

Choose how you want your patrons to pay

CrowdBlink does not limit you to one medium of cashless payment. Decide how your patrons will pay: using RFID wristbands or badges, smartphones, credit cards, and/or a combination.

Step Two

Use hardware you already own, or get affordable rentals

Have nothing more than the smartphone in your hand? You can still run a cashless event. CrowdBlink works out-of-the-box on tablets and smartphones, as well as payment terminals.

Need hardware help anyway? Let us know and CrowdBlink will supply you with devices for as low as $40/week..

Step Three

Patrons use event tokens or link their credit or debit card

CrowdBlink runs either closed-loop or open-loop cashless payments. In simplified terms, that means you get to choose between 1) patrons using event-exclusive currency (digital tokens), or 2) linking their credit card or debit card to their account, using real-world cash instead.

Step Four

Manage all payments, patrons, and vendors from one place

Manage vendors, measure sales performance, use customer service tools, and do your post-event reconciliations from one place. No more lost data, back-and-forth, or guesswork — just fast and transparent reporting on all your transactions.

Example Cashless Setups

"What would cashless look like at my event?"

CrowdBlink runs on many hardware formats — it's all down to what kind of setup you prefer.

Take payments with tablets and/or smartphones

Just like scanning a ticket, but instead you're processing a payment. Vendors record and process transactions by using a tablet or smartphone to scan a patron's QR code.

Process both mobile and credit card payments with payment terminals

CrowdBlink runs natively on payment terminals like Ingenicos and Clovers. This means you can take both mobile and credit card payments, and also keep your Point of Sale system on just one device.

Patrons tap their RFID wristband on an RFID reader

Ideal for high-volume transactions at stationary vendor booths.

Patrons tap RFID badges on a handheld device

Ideal for vendors who are on the move — a handheld device can be used both as a POS and as an RFID reader.

Top up stations issue single-use tokens for any patrons without a device or badge

Patrons missing a mobile device? Someone brought cash to top up an account? CrowdBlink's top up stations let your event attendees 1) top up their account using cash, and 2) buy printable QR code tokens that work as event currency.
